CUSOs partner to complete server replacement
February 11, 2022 - CU*Answers, the cooperative CUSO headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Yankton, South Dakota-based CUSO Site-Four, Inc. confirmed that they had completed a core server replacement recently. During the project, the CUSOs were able to execute a non-disruptive transition to Site-Four’s new IBM POWER9 production server and its accompanying DR/BR IBM POWER9 backup server that supports more than 100 credit unions.
CU*Answers breaks its record for number of core conversion projects
February 11, 2022 - CU*Answers, the cooperative CUSO headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced that its conversions team completed a total of forty-four core data processing projects during the 2021 calendar year, making 2021 the busiest conversion year in the CUSO’s fifty-two-year history.

CU*Answers conducts a dark data center test as part of their Business Continuity Program
February 11, 2022 - On February 6, 2022, CU*Answers conducted the true test of any Business Continuity program by shutting off power to the production data center as part of a remodel project. Prior to the power interruption, recovery teams performed high-availability rollover procedures to redirect core processing services, including online and mobile banking environments, to systems at the secondary data center. With member-facing services operating from alternate locations, team completed the data center remodel project that includes an upgrade and test of the Emergency Power Off (EPO) safety system.

CU*Answers preparing for major 5300 Call Report changes
February 1, 2022 - The NCUA is making major changes to the information that credit unions report on the quarterly 5300 Call Report effective with the March 2022 cycle. The NCUA first hinted of significant changes back in late 2018 as part of their modernization efforts and overall simplification theme. Although the financial statement reporting on the first five pages is mostly the same, there are numerous changes to supplemental reporting for delinquent loans, investments, off balance sheet exposures and contingent liabilities to name a few sections.

January 17, 2022 - CU*Answers has reached a new milestone in 2021 for updating member’s credit scores in CU*BASE. The Lender*VP Team updated over 2.2 million soft credit scores during the year with over 75 credit unions participating in the program. Credit score analysis continues to be a focus of development in CU*BASE® allowing credit unions to more effectively target members who qualify for a better offer. Current scores also help them offer a more competitive rate to people who might not have A or B credit, but who otherwise have acceptable risk. This helps those credit unions reach out to a new pool of loan applicants.

CUSOs reach half-way point in core conversion projects
September 29, 2021 - CU*Answers, the cooperative CUSO headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, reported that it has surpassed the half-way point on nearly three dozen core data processing conversions for its partners at CUaxis, a core technology distributor that is the wholly owned subsidiary of Vizo Corporate Federal Credit Union. CUSO performs bi-annual live business continuity test
September 29, 2021 - CU*Answers, the cooperative CUSO headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, reported that it has completed its latest disaster recovery rollover test. These rollover tests are performed at least twice a year by the cooperative’s technical teams and involve moving their suite of online cloud services provided to more than 200 credit unions from its Kentwood, Michigan data center to a backup data center in Yankton, South Dakota. The backup center leverages both the facility and employees of Site-Four, the Yankton-based data center operations CUSO of the same name.
New predictive retailing engine gets a test drive

CUSOs prepping for infrastructure upgrade
Septemeber 15, 2021 - CU*Answers, the cooperative CUSO headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and its sister CUSO Site-Four, the Yankton, South Dakota-based provider of data center services, are in the process of preparing for Site-Four’s periodic infrastructure upgrade. The project, which is targeted for completion in late October or early November, will replace Site-Four’s current production and high availability IBM POWER servers with new POWER9 servers. CU*Answers works with credit unions to validate enhancement
September 3, 2021 - Recently a project was released to two credit unions as a Beta-type project. 1st Community FCU and Partnership Financial CU participated in validating a project related to schedule loan payments for lines of credit. Previously, when a LOC was paid off and EOM processing happened, the loan still showed a scheduled payment amount due in CU*BASE. With this enhancement, if there is nothing due the scheduled payment amount will also reflect $0 after EOM/payment recalculation occurs.

Affinity Credit Union to begin testing coin machine integration to CU*BASE
August 17, 2021 - Affinity Credit Union will begin testing an integration to CU*BASE from a coin machine. This integration allows members to deposit coins into the machine, have them counted, and then have that amount deposited directly into their account.
CU*Answers releases an update to allow easier ordering of debit cards for joint owners
August 17, 2021 - CU*Answers’ recent 21.05 release of their CU*BASE core software came with an update from the SettleMINT EFT team, changing the ATM/debit card ordering process to make it much easier to order cards for joint owners. Previously, clients would have to manually update all the necessary information to order a card for a joint owner.

June 8, 2021 - In the new CU*BASE 21.05 release, available free to all credit unions on the platform, a new Auto-Post RDC Deposit Dashboard has been included, announced cooperative CUSO CU*Answers. The analysis screens include the top hours for deposits, the top depositors, and month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter comparisons to allow a deep dive of the credit union’s RDC data.
